Kona Earth was honored to be featured recently on Shop Small Hawaii. Their generous write-up profiled our "origin story" as the new owners of our 100% Kona coffee farm. Click HERE to read the write-up.
"Joanie describes their new business as 'a jolt of energy for their day'. Steve handles all of the hands-on, day-to-day tasks, while Joanie is focused on the business side of things. This power couple not only continues to gain knowledge and perfect their business model, but they also donate $5 from every purchase to a non-profit called the Kohala Center. Visit their website and keep an eye out for great holiday gifts!"
Shop Small Hawaii supports the small businesses that make Hawai'i special. Presented by Central Pacific Bank, their goal is to "bring attention to the importance of our family, friends and neighbors who are small business owners. These hardworking individuals give our island home a sense of community, and contribute to our local economy in many ways."
Initiated by American Express and now adopted by many communities and governments, the SHOP SMALL campaign is a national, year-round celebration of small business owners everywhere. During the holidays, American Express even provides small businesses with custom marketing materials and helps to promote "Small Business Saturday" - now a mainstay of the critical "Black Friday through Cyber Monday" holiday sales weekend after Thanksgiving.
This type of support is meaningful for us as we relaunch the Kona Earth brand and offer our products farm-direct on our new e-commerce site. It also welcomes us into this vibrant Hawaii business community.
