Part-time Shipping Assistant

Job summary

The Shipping Assistant is responsible for the timely and accurate packaging and shipping of all coffee products and related merchandise. Working closely with the staff, this role ensures all orders are fulfilled according to company quality standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pull, package, and label coffee bags and other products for both wholesale and e-commerce orders.
  • Ensure all packaged items match the quantities and descriptions on invoices and packing slips with 100% accuracy.
  • Generate, print, and apply shipping labels using carrier software.
  • Assist with loading shipments. Assist with receiving and inspecting incoming shipments of other supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and participate in regular cycle and physical counts. Communicate with shipping manager regarding needed supply ordering.
  • Assist with the daily cleaning and organization of the warehouse and shipping areas to maintain a sanitary and efficient workspace.
  • Manage and track shipping documentation and paperwork.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and food handling procedures. 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or food production environment is desirable.
  • Physical ability: Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to coordinate effectively with team members and customers.
  • Organizational skills: Must be highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency to manage multiple tasks and meet shipping deadlines.
  • Technical aptitude: Familiarity with shipping software and basic computer skills is required.
  • Passion for coffee: A general enthusiasm for coffee and the coffee industry is a bonus. 

Work environment

  • This is a part-time position, (M-F, 8am to11am) with hours potentially fluctuating based on seasonal demands. Some weekend work may be required during peak seasons
  • The work is performed on site in our shipping facility in Holualoa.
  • 2-week (paid) training/probationary period
  • Salary: $20-$25 per hour
